US’s stainless steel imports surge in December

According to statistics released by the US Department of Commerce (DOC), the country's imports of stainless steel products totaled 100,628 tons in December, jumping by 46.4% from a month ago.

Meanwhile, this was the highest level since January, 2013.

Among them, 35,728 tons were stainless semis, soaring by 233.3%; 19,814 tons were stainless cold rolled sheets, rising by 13.04% and 3,392 tons were stainless oil country tubular goods (OCTG), jumping by 200.4%, all compared to the figures in a month ago.
